New Delhi: Amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi on October 19 held a telephonic talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He conveyed condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that India will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people.

During the talks, they shared deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. PM Modi also reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue.

Taking the social media platform X, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted, "Spoke to the President of the Palestinian Authority H.E. Mahmoud Abbas. Conveyed my condolences at the loss of civilian lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. We will continue to send humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people. Shared our deep concern at the terrorism, violence and deteriorating security situation in the region. Reiterated India's long-standing principled position on the Israel-Palestine issue."


While, on October 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed deep grief over the tragic loss of lives at the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

Yesterday, Mr. Modi had extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in hospital attack and said civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of serious and continuing concern. Those involved should be held responsible.
