New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India has appointed the ambassadors to four countries on January 11.
The MEA has appointed the ambassadors to Denmark, Czech Republic, Angola and Turkmenistan.
Ambassador Manish Prabhat who joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1996, has been appointed as the next ambassador of India to Denmark.
Mr. Prabhat is presently ambassador of India to the Republic of Uzbekistan.
"Shri Manish Prabhat (IFS:1996), presently Ambassador of India to the Republic of Uzbekistan, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Denmark", the MEA said in its press release on January 11.
The Foreign Service Officer (IFS) of batch 1995, Raveesh Kumar, presently ambassador of India to Finland, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic.
"Shri Raveesh Kumar (IFS:1995), presently Ambassador of India to Finland, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Czech Republic", the MEA said.
The MEA has appointed Dr. Vidhu P. Nair as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Angola.
The IFS of batch 2002, Dr. Vidhu P. Nair is presently ambassador of India to Finland.
The MEA said in the press release: "Dr. Vidhu P. Nair (IFS:2002), presently Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Angola."
The IFS of batch 1999, Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat, presently High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan.
Ms. Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat (IFS:1999), presently High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Turkmenistan.
They are expected to take up the assignment shortly.
About Manish Prabhat:
Manish Prabhat assumed charge as ambassador of India to Uzbekistan on 24 September 2020. Prior to this, he headed the Eurasia Division in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi.
Mr. Manish Prabhat is a career diplomat who has served in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in India’s Missions abroad in Moscow, Yerevan, Washington D.C., Milan and Paris.
Ambassador Prabhat joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1996. He has completed Master Degree in History from the University of Delhi. He can speak Hindi, English and Russian.
About Raveesh Kumar:
Mr. Raveesh Kumar was born in Nathnagar in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. He completed his class 10 from Bhagalpur. He held a bachelor's degree with Honours in History from Hansraj College, Delhi University.
Mr. Kumar joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1995.
He was the former official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in the Government of India. He started his diplomatic career at the Indian Mission in Jakarta, Indonesia in 1997.
About Dr. Vidhu P. Nair:
Dr. Vidhu P. Nair took charge as Ambassador of India to Turkm 2020.
Dr. Nair joined the Indian Foreign Service, India's diplomatic service in September 2002. He has earlier served in Embassy of India, Berlin, Germany (2004-07) as Second Secretary (Political & Information); Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi (2007-10) as Under Secretary/Deputy Secretary in Europe West and East & Southern Africa Divisions.
Dr. Nair is a Post-Graduate in Veterinary Science from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. He also holds a diploma in Export and Import Management. He is proficient in 4 languages – Malayalam, Hindi, English and German (read, write and speak) – besides having working knowledge of Arabic (read and write).

Ms. Madhumita Hazarika Bhagat is career diplomat and joined the IFS in 1999. She has been educated in New Delhi. She has done her graduation in Political Science and followed it with an LLB.
