Rajasthan: The President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dennis Francis visited to Jaipur Foot centre and Princess Diya Kumari Foundation in Rajasthan on January 24.

"Jaipur Foot centre" is the world's largest organization for disabled.

It is a social organisation and fully committed to help the disabled regain mobility and dignity by fitting high-quality, durable artificial limbs and other aids and appliances.

While the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF) an organisation which provides a path to a better future to the women and girls who face cultural, gender biased and economic barriers. 

It works on skill building to create sustainable livelihoods for women; promotes heritage crafts and facilitates community health programs.

The President of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (PGA), Dennis Francis arrived in New Delhi on a five-day visit to India on January 22.

His visit to India is from 22-26 January 2024.

Mr. Dennis Francis arrived in India at the invitation of External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar.

"A warm welcome to @UN_PGA Dennis Francis as he arrives in New Delhi on a visit to India. The visit is an opportunity to advance India-UN ties and exchange views on 🇮🇳’s priorities and global challenges."

On January 22, the President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dennis Francis also posted on X:

On January 22, in New Delhi, the President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Dennis Francis paid his respect to Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.

"There is no way to peace, peace is the way", Mr. Dennis Francis sent a message from Rajghat.

"Today in New Delhi 🇮🇳, it was my great honour to pay respects to one of history’s most transformative figures, Mahatma Gandhi. From Rajghat – his resting place, I echo to the world his visionary words: 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲, 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆", Mr. Dennis Francis posted on X.

PGA visited to Jaipur Foot centre and Princess Diya Kumari Foundation in Rajasthan on January 24. 

Posting on X PGA wrote:

PGA also visited to the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation traditional crafts store in Jaipur, which helps local women artisans gain financial independence by providing them a platform to market and sell their work to a global audience.

PGA will also visit to Mumbai. In Mumbai, he will pay floral tributes at the 26/11 memorial. PGA's engagements in Mumbai will include a visit to the National Stock Exchange and an address on New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF).

On 26 January, on the occasion of Republic Day, PGA will participate as a State guest in the Republic Day Parade of Maharashtra.

In the last part of his official visit, the PGA will travel to Mumbai to participate in a Fireside Chat event with India's think tank on "New Orientation for Reformed Multilateralism". He will also be received at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai.
