New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephonic conversation on November 3 with the President of the UAE His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his British counterpart Rishi Sunak.

PM Modi and the President of the UAE exchanged views on the developments in the West Asian region. They also expressed deep concern at terrorism, deteriorating security situation and the loss of civilian lives.

India and UAE called for an early resolution of the security and humanitarian situation and emphasized the importance of durable peace, security and stability in the region.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of the UAE Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reiterated their commitment to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in diverse areas within the framework of the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

While the leaders from India and the United Kingdom (UK) discussed the deeply distressing situation in the Middle East and condemned Hamas's attacks on Israel. Both leaders reiterated that Hamas did not represent the Palestinian people and reflected on the need to deescalate tensions in the wider region.

India and UK reiterated their commitment to continue to strengthen bilateral Comprehensive Strategic partnership, including in the areas of trade, investment, emerging technology, defence, security, health and others. They welcomed the progress being made for an early conclusion of a mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement.

India and the UK also agreed on the importance of securing an ambitious deal that benefitted both sides.

PMs of India and the UK also agreed to remain in touch and exchanged greetings for the festive occasion of Deepavali.

"Finally, the leaders discussed the ongoing Cricket World Cup being held in India. The Prime Minister congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the strong performance of the India team and said he hoped England would have more luck during their test series in India in January", Prime Minister's Office of the UK said on November 3 in the press release.
