UAE: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi reached in United Arab Emirates (UEA) for the World Climate Action Summit (WCAS) of the COP28.

PM Modi was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Interior of UAE His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the airport.

In addition to his participation in WCAS, Mr. Modi will hold meetings with global leaders and participate in special events aimed at furthering climate action.

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi posted on X as the Prime Minister reached in Dubai.

"Wheels down in Dubai!

PM @narendramodi arrives in UAE for the #COP28 World Climate Action Summit. Welcomed by Deputy PM & Minister of Interior of UAE, HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the airport. In addition to his participation in WCAS, PM will hold meetings with global leaders and participate in special events aimed at furthering climate action."

The Prime Minister's Office of India also took the social media platform X to post,

"Earlier this evening, PM @narendramodi landed in Dubai, where he was received by HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahayan, Deputy PM and Interior Minister."

The Prime Minister posted on X in English and Arabic as as he reached in Dubai.

Posting on X he wrote, "Landed in Dubai to take part in the COP-28 Summit. Looking forward to the proceedings of the Summit, which are aimed at creating a better planet."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi got warm welcome from the Indian community in Dubai. They sang "Saare Jahan Se Achha" and chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and "Vande Mataram" for the Prime Minister.

The Indian community's support and enthusiasm are testament of the vibrant culture and strong bonds between India and Dubai. 

Expressing his happiness to get the warm greetings from Indian community, PM Modi wrote on X, 

"Deeply moved by the warm welcome from the Indian community in Dubai. Their support and enthusiasm is a testament to our vibrant culture and strong bonds."

MEA Spokesperson Arindam Bagchi described the full agenda of PM Mod's Dubai visit in the video as the PM reached.

Mr. Bagchi: "(Namaskar) from Al Maktoum airport in Dubai where Prime Minister Narendra Modi has just arrived to attend the World Climate Action Summit, which is the high-level segment of COP-28. He has a full-packed agenda tomorrow. It starts off in the morning with the opening events of this high-level climate event where the Prime Minister will deliver his address. Thereafter, he attends a special event hosted by UAE on transforming climate finance. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will host with UAE an event that will look at agreed credits, which is an initiative the Prime Minister has a personal interest in. Subsequently, the Prime Minister will be attending an event co-hosted with Sweden called the Leadership Group on Industrial Transition LeadIT and interspersed with this a large number of bilaterals during the day. And we will be back here at this airport later in the evening to wrap up this very active day tomorrow."
