New Delhi: Amid the India-Gaza crisis, India has launched "Operation Ajay" to facilitate the return of the Indian citizens from Israel who wish to return. This was stated by the External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar on October 11 further said that special charter flights and other arrangements being put in place. He also said that India is fully committed to the safety and well-being of our nationals living abroad.

Taking the X (formally known as Twitter) External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar posted:

"Launching #OperationAjay to facilitate the return from Israel of our citizens who wish to return. Special charter flights and other arrangements being put in place. Fully committed to the safety and well-being of our nationals abroad."

Quoting the post of External Affairs Minister, Embassy of Israel posted on X, 

"The Embassy has emailed the first lot of registered Indian citizens for the special flight tomorrow. Messages to other registered people will follow for subsequent flights."

On October 11, Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv and Representative office of India in Ramallah have issued emergency helpline numbers for its nationals in view of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas.

In view of the ongoing developments in Israel and Palestine, a 24-hour Control Room has been set up in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to monitor the situation and provide information and assistance. The contact details of the control room are as under:

Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi wrote on X on October 11 : "In view of the ongoing developments in Israel and Palestine, a 24-hour Control Room has been set up at @MEAIndia to monitor the situation and provide information and assistance. The Embassy of India in Israel advised Indian Nationals to register themselves with the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv, Israel.

In a statement, the Embassy of India in Israel said: "All Indian nationals living in Israel are advised to register themselves with the Embassy of India, Tel Aviv, Israel. Registration with the Embassy will facilitate any measures that need to be taken in a situation of emergency or if such a need arises. It will also facilitate information availability about various events through our emailing network."
