New Delhi: There was a busy schedule of Vice President of the Dominican Republic Raquel Peña Rodríguez as she arrived in New Delhi yesterday (October 3) on an official visit to India at the invitation of her Indian counterpart Jagdeep Dhankhar.
Vice President Raquel Peña Rodríguez called on President of India Droupadi Murmu yesterday at Rashtrapati Bhavan and discussed pharmaceutical products, marine science, meteorology, disaster resilient infrastructure and digital payments technologies.
Vice President of the Dominican Republic Raquel Peña Rodríguez also met with Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar yesterday in the evening in New Delhi. The two leaders discussed further strengthening of bilateral ties, especially in trade and commerce, education, defence, space and renewable energy. They also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues as well.

The visit of the Dominican Republic Vice President is significant as it takes place at a time when India-Dominican Republic bilateral relationship is entering its 25th year. The two countries established diplomatic relations on 04 May 1999. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a press release.
